Joe Caruso is an acknowledged expert in the field of corporate governance with more than 12 years experience in both corporate and not for profit boards. He is currently a Senior Fellow in the Corporate Governance Center at The Conference Board and previously served as Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the Guardian Life Insurance Co. He has been a pet therapy provider for more than five years.
Erick Spronck is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant in NJ and PA. He is the owner and manager of ESCA Tax Services providing income tax preparation to the general public and a sister company, Spring Woods Accounting Services, which provides accounting services to small businesses. Erick and his wife Colleen have three certified therapy dogs through CCPT and have just begun raising a puppy for Canine Companions for Independence.
Joan Baer is one of the co-founders of Creature Comfort Pet Therapy. She began her business career in IT but soon turned to raising her family and volunteering in many areas, including 13 years on the Board of Gill St. Bernard's School in Gladstone, NJ. Along with her husband, Sandy, she raised 10 puppies for Canine Companions for Independence (service dogs for people with disabilities other than sight). In 2002, Joan began doing pet therapy visits with her Golden Retriever, Cooper. Today Joan is certified for pet therapy with her Lab/Golden cross, Konar and her Golden Retriever, Sweet P. Joan also loves to hike with her dogs.
Sandy Baer is a retired endodontist who was in practice for over 35 years. Sandy has helped to raise nine puppies for Canine Companions for Independence and is co-owner of two certified therapy dogs.
Peter Brody, DVM, received his degree in Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State in 1978 and began practicing in New Jersey in 1979. In 1997 he formed Murray Hill Veterinary Associates in New Providence, NJ, with two partners and continues to practice there. Dr. Brody lives in Gillette with his wife and border terrier and has two grown sons.
Annie Murphy is one of the co-founders of Creature Comfort Pet Therapy. She has spent years as Executive Director of small non-profit organizations, and has extensive experience in volunteer management and program development. In 2008, she moved into a volunteer management position in a large animal welfare center. Annie is an outdoor enthusiast and loves bicycling, hiking and gardening. She lives with her therapy dog Rosie, a yellow Lab named Lola, and Wilbur, a large fat cat.
Kathleen O’Donnell is currently the Rehabilitation Administrator at the Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute at Morristown Medical Center and has been a pet therapy provider with a number of dogs since 2001.
Jim Rossi has split his career between audio engineering and in high level non-profit director positions. He is the web manager for CCPT as well as managing editor of the Journal of Orgonomy.
